Israel Hays, my great-grandfather b. (c) 1815 in MS Terr. enlisted in Co D, 7th MS Bn, CSA at age 47. Served until surrender in 1865 at Vicksburg. Served under Cpt Pearson and Col. Terral. Died 22 Mar 1885. Burial site--unknown. Widow: Louisa Skinner Hays filed for confederate pension X 3 after his death.
