    1. Re: Civil War Soldier
    2. I have 3 Civil War soldiers that had ties to Clarke and Wayne counties, they and another brother who survived and moved to Louisiana after the war, were all in the 8th Mississippi Infantry. Co. F. Hannibal Edmondson(Edmonson) David Edmondson(Edmonson) John Edmondson - survived Have never found anything on them after the war (both were killed in the war) and would like for those of you who visit cemetaries in the Clarke and Wayne County areas to keep an eye out for them. The enlisted at Shubuta. The family shows up on the 1866 Wayne county census, but land was bought in Clarke and Wayne Counties in 1859....so they could be anywhere!!!! Have checked all existing cemetary listings on-line that I could find, (both counties) and they are not there. I know there are more cemetaries yet to be transcribed - so I keep hoping!
