My grandparents married in Dec 1900 in Clarke Co but were in Jasper on 1920 census according to information a cousin gave me several years ago.     3. John, I had part of the 1880 census posted before the "incident" and may put it back on soon. There are some pages of the 1880 Clarke census that are virtually white--can't make out anything. I'm not sure right now if I'm going to finish the entire census, but may do as Ken Simpson done for Wayne County, just post an index. Also, had part of the 1900 census heads of households and others in same household with different surname. Might pick up on that one soon, too. I don't know about other folks but I owe you big time. Thanks to Billy also for the new Confederate page because now we can find more family. Fortunately our library has all the Confederate Pension Applications so I have been able to locate my greatgrandfather's pension application. He was a Jones Co. soldier.     2. My ggfather was also in the 37th MS Infantry company C for a while. His name was Haynes Crabtree and he died as a POW in Camp Chase Ohio just before the war ended. It looks like most of the 37th came from Clarke Co. Paulette Crabtree Wilson

Your kind heartedness has truly touched me.My roots were in Clarke county, and as a child I cherished all the stories my mom told us about the relatives.We longed to go to the "hills" as she called your area .after marriage my dad took her to the delta.
