    1. Parish/Pippin(Pippen)
    2. My g-g-grandfather, William Christy Parish, married Elizabeth Loucinda (Lou) Pippen in Oct, 1879 in Clarke County. I do not have a record of them on the 1880 Clarke County Census. They had a son, Laurence Theo Parish, who died May 7, 1884 and is buried in Shubuta (accordong to family records but I have no record of this). I have no further records of them in Clarke County even though I suspect many more are available. Any information on this family will be appreciated. Regards, Larry P. 1. One more note about the PHELPS family
    2. Mark B.
    3. Dear List Members, Oops, time to pester everyone with some information I forgot to add on the query I just sent about the Phelps family of Clarke Co. It might be helpful to list all the members of the household of Samuel Phelps as they appear on the 1870 census: Samuel Phelps, head of household, b. 1830, GA Christianna, wife (nee RED), b. 1825, MS Anna (my ggrandmother), b. 1858, MS David, b. 1859, MS Margret, b. 1862, MS Jefferson, b. 1865, MS ----- One more note: There is a Jefferson Phelps, b. 1810, living next door. This may either be Samuel's older brother or father. Thanks again. --Mark __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! 1. Samuel PHELPS--1870 and Earlier
    2. Mark B.
    3. Dear List Members, This is my first posting to the list, and I was wondering if anyone there might be able to help me research the PHELPS family of my paternal ggrandmother, shown living in Clarke County on the 1870 census, Shibuta post office. The head of the household was one Samuel PHELPS (my 3ggrandfather, b. about 1830), and his wife's name was Christianna, maiden name Red. I'm trying to trace Samuel's family back as far as I can. The 1820 census indicates that a Samuel Phelps, b. before 1775, was living in nearby Wayne County, and I believe that he may be Samuel's father, although one or two others Phelps families seem to have been living in the area, too. I don't have much else to go on at present. . . just hoping that someone might recognize the Phelps name (or perhaps the Red(d) family as well) and know something about them. Any help would be much appreciated. Sincerely, --Mark in Mobile, AL __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo!
