Ancestry.com/census has a limited number of census records. Clarke Co MS is not one of them.
I have found Theopholus Pippin (581-583) on the 1860 Census Clark Co MS Families (582-633). It shows his age as 27 and born in MS. Sarah is shown as 17 yrs of age born in MS and Lusinda age 2 born in NC. Record shows Nelson and Susanna Cooley in household. This may be a starting place for you. Hope it helps. I am also of the Pippin line, but don't have any record of Theopholus in my ancestry. Could be, but haven't found a link yet. Good luck. Honey
I have ordered several CD Census from Hertiage Quest. If the online Census Images are as good as their CD, it will be worth the fee. I have a subscription to Ancestry.com and as far as I know they do not have any images of the actual census pages 1790-1920 on line. They do have the AIS indexes, the 1890 census substitute, and some other other scattered censuses (but no images). Ancestry.com and familytreemaker.com have also announced that they will have all censuses posted on their sites this fall--for a fee. I don't know which of these will give the best deal--I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Kay
Posted on: Clarke Co. Ms Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ms/Clarke/265 Surname: PIPPIN ------------------------- My great great grandfather, William Christy Parish, married Elizabeth Loucinda PIPPIN in 1879 in Clarke County (I have the marriage record). Her father was Theopholus PIPPIN. He died circa 1856. The chiledren (Elizabeth and her three brothers and sisters) were raised by her mother, Sarah, who married Simon Champenois circa 1860. I need to know if anyone knows exactly when he (Theopholus) died and where he is buried. If not, I would like to know where I can search for this information. Any and all help will be appreciated.
Folks, some (or all) of you may already know about this site, but I just found out about it this week. It will be a subscription service, but it sure will be great to have images all census records 1790-1920 on line! I for one will be subscribing if it's not too expensive. http://www.genealogydatabase.com/ Bennie
Thanks, Billy. I have a copy of the original record and most of the early records of the church. I was fortunate enough to borrow all the records last year and made copies of the late 1800's and early 1900's records from the old ledgers. Was going to post the tribute myself soon, but appreciate the transcription. Nan. I haven't run into a Anthony Wiliams yet. Just got more leads on my Williams. It seems like they where two sets of John Major Williams around 1860. My John Major Williams Jr. ( born abt. 1797 in AL. ) lived around Clarke Co. MS. Married Mary Coleman. Children: 1. Frances ( Born abt. 1820 ) married James M. Vann. 2. Lucretia ( born abt. 1823 )married Jerimiah Hayman. 3. Elizabeth ( born abt. 1825 ) married William Avera. 4. Sarah ( born abt. 1829 ) married John W. Matthews. 5. George H. ( born abt. 1833 ) married Mary A. Bond. 6. Thomas ( born abt. 1838 ) married Levinia Collins. 7. William (born abt. 1837 ) married ( 1 ) Emily Hayes ( 2 ) Laura Wiliams. 8. James ( born abt. 1838 ) married Sarah Avera. 9. John Zachariah ( born ? ) married Anna Bland. This is the one I need information on, believe to be Willams that I am looking for. 10. Isaac ( born 1841 ) married Emiy Lilley (Lilly). 11. Nancy ( born abt. 1846 ) married J. W. Lilley. Maybe your Anthony could be off spring of one of these Williams? They lived in Sumter Co. AL. , Choctaw Co. AL. Clarke Co. MS. and Lauderdale Co. MS. Billy

Bennie's Great grandfather and my great grandfather were Charter members of East Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Clarke Co. Mississippi. When T. D. White died in September, 1906 my Great Grandfather William Beckman had this put in the Church minutes. TRIBUTE OF RESPECT Whereas our Heavenly Father in his divine wisdom has called from our midst our beloved brother T. D. White. And whereas while we have in humble submission to the will of him who doeth all things well in his on good time, never the less we deplore his end and feel that we, in common with the entire community, have suffered the loss of one of our most useful and beloved members. Therefore be it resolved by us in our conference that we tender the bereaved family our deep sympathy in this hour of distress and that a copy of the same be furnished to the family of our departed friend and brother. Respectfully submitted Wm. Beckman Billy Beckman records. Bennie, I would like for you to put this letter with your church records.
Bennie, Have come across anything on the Mixons? My grandparents came to Clarke County from Henry County, AL abt. 1880. My grandfather was William J. Thompson--a farmer who lived near Shubuta. At least my father, Lawrence Icabod Thompson was born at Shubuta in 1880. I believe his father-in-law (George) Icabod Mixon was living in Clarke County at that time plus all of most of my grandmother's siblings. The 1880 census shows an Icabod but the date is not correct for him. Seems the Mixons all stayed together! If you havn't come across them yet please keep my email address and let me know if you do. Thanks, Guess Thompson Simmons

Bennie, instead of 15 minutes in the spotlight, you can take a full 30. You certainly deserve it. Without your efforts, a lot of my maternal side would be a great big blank. Thanks from all of us. Bill Norwood, Grand Forks North Dakota
Keep up the good work, Bennie, and bask in the sunlight while you can. WAYTAGO, BENNIE!!!!!!!!!! Take care, olong99159@aol.com
