Jan, Are any of your Shelton's related to Samuel Shelton? The Carroll County Marriage Register lists the marriage of Aryana A. Bird to Samuel Shelton January 18, 1843. Aryana was the daughter of James C. (deceased about 1839) and Rebecca Bird and sister to Jane Currie Bird, my gg-grandmother. Jane Currie Bird married Jesse Thomas Young in 1842, they had one child, Spencer Young (my g-grandfather). While I do not know much about the Shelton family, I do know of and have corresponded with descendants of Samuel and Aryana Shelton.
