Rufus (1850 VA - aft 1880 Carroll Co) was a Blacksmith in Black Hawk and lists both his parents born in Scotland. Julia Avera/Avara (1831 NC - aft 1880 Carroll Co) was the daughter of Samuel Avera and Lucinda Unknown both born in NC. Julia's 2 known siblings were: James H. Avera (b 1818) a Carroll Co minister who is reportedly to have moved to Hondouras after the Civil War and mar Lucinda Unknown in NC; Ann who married Nick Meriweather.
