Surnames: Riley, Musser Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yIB.2ACE/959 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Ulysses Riley a carpenter who appears on the 1850 census for Wakenda Twp with wife Mary and children Francis, Lydia, Elizabeth, William, and Garland. On the 1860 census he is still in Wakenda Twp with wife Mary and children Lydia, Elizabeth and William (Francis would have been 21). On the 1870 census he is still in Wakenda Twp but has apparently remarried as his wife is now Amanda and the children are Louisa, Elbert and Bella. These children are aged 15, 12 and 7 and would be his step children. I am sure this is the same man as he is the same age, in the same place and is listed as a carpenter. Elizabeth named one of her daughters Amanda after this woman. Any information on any part of this family would be welcome. Family legend is that he came to Missouri at the age of 13 or 14. I have several questions: 1) who were the parents of Ulysses & Mary? 2) when did Mary die and who was Amanda? 3) Did he die prior to the 1880 census? 4) What became of the children other than Elizabeth? Elizabeth married Logan Musser 1865 in Carlson County MO.
