Hello, Thank you to all that responded! Below is a summary of the URLs that I received. I tried all of them. The results varied by 1 day (i.e., half calculated Nov 28 and half had Nov 29) but that is close enough. Thanks again for all the help! By 1840 there were no more Arnold's in Autauga co.,AL, I only find the bunch that stayed back in Oglethorpe Co.,GA & the bunch that had moved on to MS. I have been corresponding with a man for several years who has studied the ARNOLD families extensively, Gordon Arnold, of Billings, Montana. I have been passing your messages on to him, for his input, to see if he could add anything, but alas, nothing yet. Do you have any documentation on who Sallie's parents were? I feel sure that they were all related, and some day we may figure out how, if we are lucky. All I can suggest at this time, is to keep your ears and theories open. Sharon.

Some other Carroll Co., MS folks, the Bankstons also were there. By 1850 & on they start showing up in Carroll Co.,MS. I have a pretty good feeling these different brances kept up w/ each other b/c they all connected again in MS. Just seems some took the LA route & others went to AL for awhile. In the shelby Co.,AL marriage records is a Thomas Arnold to Mary Wilson 12/1/1819. That's the same year/place my Sally Arnold married her first husband John F. Taylor. In the 1820 census for Shelby Co.,AL there are 2 Thomas Arnolds along w/ my John Taylor & other known relatives. By 1830 there was only 1 Thomas Arnold, the other one could have been your Thomas gone to MS. In 1830 some of this family herd was still in Shelby, AL but some had moved on to Autauga, AL. By 1840 none were in Shelby & had all moved to Autauga. By 1850 they split again, this time w/ some moving on to Choctaw & Carroll Co.,MS., but the majority of the Taylors stayed in AL. I think there might be an earlier connection as my Long & Mullen families were in MS very early like your Thomas Arnold. In the census records it seems all the folks I've mentioned are clustered together year after year. If they weren't related when they got to MS I'm sure they were eventually! :>) Maybe we should compare more names? Cindy

Your henry & Louise were children of Thomas Arnold & I think his 2nd wife. Was Thomas the s/o a William from Oglethorpe Co.,Ga?? I know thomas was in Choctaw Co by 1850 w/ his children & 2 Rucker children. My ancestor was Sally Arnold b. 1801nc/KY, died 1/1860 Choctaw Co.,MS. she was married 2x, 1st to John F. Taylor 1819 Shelby Co.,AL, they moved to Autauga Co.,AL. JFT died 1833 & left Sallie w/ 6 children. She remarried 1837 Autauga Co.,AL to William P. King. William B. Arnold was the surety. don't know if that was her father or brother. Sallie had 5 kids by Wm. King including my ancestor Anna King b. 1838. They moved to Choctaw where Sallie died in 1860. They lived next to many Rucker families so again there is an unknown connection. I've traced these folks from Oglethorpe Co.,GA through Shelby & autauaga Co.,AL to MS. Can't find Wm. Emma then married John David FISHER on March 21, 1883 in Carroll Co. They had the following children: 1. Lessie b 1887 2. Clyde b 1889 (female) 3. John Edd b 1892 d 1905 buried at Harmony Cemetery 4. Watson b 1894 5. Sarah Evelyn b 1897 d 1974 in Oklahomo City, OK 6. William b 1900 In 1907, John D. Fisher died and is buried at Harmony Cemetery. Old family history states that his remaining family moved to Oklahoma. Sarah's death appears to indicate this though the source did not know anything more about the remaining members of her family.
