GA) and have no connection with the Pittman family. She is descended from one of John and Mary Polly (Rowe) Pittman's younger children. Is there a Pittman book that she might purchase? Is there even more fascinating information about Buckner's life after he sailed down the Miss. to settle in a town or an island on the river with his 2nd wife? I copied the stories for her off the internet about the Tory whom Buckner shot in N'ville for pushing his mother off the porch and breaking her hip, about how his second wife was/nearly was scalped when she was a teenager, and that he explored KY and TN with Rogers or Clarke. Also, she is so pleased to learn the true names of people whom she has only known by nicknames and has impressed her family with her newfound knowledge. Any direction you'd be willing to give me will be appreciated.
