    3. C., I'm curious about something here. Did the Ruby Rose below marry a Mr. Moore? I went to J. Z. George High School, and Ruby Moore was the cafeteria supervisor there. Her husband was the custodian. I rode the bus that went by her house and she used to ride to work on the bus with us. There was a McNeer family who lived just up the road from her, who also rode the bus, and they called her "Aunt Ruby". If this isn't the same person, forgive my ramblings! My great-grandmother's brother, John D. Pabst, married in 1872 Henrietta Wimberly. Members of that family tell me her name was Doster. The marriage book before 1872 is missing in Carroll County. I had been searching in the 1870 census looking for Henrietta, a Wimberly husband and perhaps her Doster parents. A very kind researcher supplied me with the census reference!!! (1870 U. S.Census, Carroll County, MS, M593-roll 723, p. 554. Joseph Wimberly, Henrietta, and 2 young children were in the household of John and Nancy Doster.

MS. I am searching for the parents and/or siblings for my g-grandfather, Rev./Dr. Jesse Lee (Leonidas?) WOOD who was reportedly b. 1839 in Duck Hill, Carroll (now Montgomery) Co., MS?. He first shows up on the 1860 Census in Dyer Co., TN at age 21 years m. to Mary WOOD age 20 years. We have no idea how/when Jesse got to TN nor any info. about his family or him until he enlisted in Company I of the 7th Tennessee Cavalry Reg., U. S. Army at Huntingdon, Carroll Co., TN on Dec 27, 1863. Although my g-grandfather Jesse Lee WOOD, fought for the Union with the 7th Tennessee Cavalry Reg., U. S. Army, he had three brothers (names unknown) who fought for the CSA but since I don't have any names, CSA units or locations there isn't enough to go on with a name like WOOD. Since Jesse was born in MS, the brothers could have enlisted in the CSA in MS. I would love to share information with anyone who has a connection. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/yIB.2ACE/994 Message Board Post: My family name descends from a James Marshall who in 1754, when being granted land in Kershaw Dist. SC, stated that he had come lately from Penn. Over the past 5 years with the help of lots of folks, I have collected data on some 750 families that descend from this James. But I cannot get past James, who was a Capt in the Rev. War. I now believe to get past this James brick wall new technology is required. And it appears the new technology just might be DNA testing. Many of you have the same type of brick wall. Or there may be someone with the Marshall surname you have always wondered with about kinship. I would like to start a Marshall Surname DNA Project. If your surname is Marshall or something very similar, and would consider participating in the project please contract me at my e-mail address listed below. To learn more about the tests please go to www.familytreedna.com. I now have enough Marshall's interested to qualify for the $99 each gropup rate. This is for the 12 marker test.
