    1. [MSCarrol] MCONNELL, Joseph and Jane Carson Family
    2. Jackie Toliver
    3. Looking for information about MCCONNELLs in the Carroll County area. This family immigrated from Ireland to Alexandria, VA in 1820. Parents: Joseph MCCONNELL and Jane CARSON MCCONNELL (her father was Samuel CARSON of Armagh, Ireland and then Alexandria, VA); children at that time included Richard (b. about 1803), Ann (b. about 1805), William (b. about 1807), Isabella (b. about 1810), George (b. about 1815), Jane (b. about 1816), Elizabeth (married Silas CONDIT in Carroll, MS. In 1849), and Agify (? B. about 1820). Other information I have shows Isabella marrying an unknown AYRES (possible Angus W.) and Jane marrying an unknown WALSH. Jane's daughter ends up marrying J. W. MCMAIN and living in Baton Rouge. Elizabeth's daughter married Byron POND and lived in New Orleans. Can anyone help fill in some blanks with this family? I'd really appreciate any assistance.

J.W.W. Snelson died as a prisoner of war in Indianapolis, IND. and is buried there-I have his military records. Elizabeth Snelson is buried in Granbury, Hood Co. TX along with Z.T. George who died in 1885 right after they moved to TX and Sarah Jane Snelson George is buried next to her husband in Hood Co. Sarah Jane Snelson George/Z.T. George are my great grandparents.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/yIB.2ACE/895.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Fred. I have a few pictures that was taken of my grandfather's store. I'm told this was taken in Black Hawk. There are a few other buildings, one across the street and one next door that I'm uncertain what they were. The building next door was definitely a business, what kind I don't know. My grandfather's store was closed down and turned into a house at some point. The business next door was a white building with a cigarette advertisement on the door I believe. I have no idea how many stores were operated in this area or even if some of them may have been owned by several different people. I believe the street deadended by my grandfather's store.
