About 12 years ago, my husband and I went to Toccoa, GA and to the grave of Moses Guest, marked with a DAR marker. We were able to visit with Mr. Charley Marvin Taylor who at that time owned the property where Moses Guest was buried. Mr. Taylor lived across the road from the gravesite. He shared with us that his grandfather attended the funeral of Moses Guest. The GUEST-GUESS AND RELATED FAMILIES book by Alta Louise Biggs Martin, pages 32 and 33 have newspaper clippings with pictures, dated November 4, 1971 and October 29, 1971 and the articles regarding the marking of the grave by the Toccoa DAR Chapter. I have pictures of the monument that we made. However, I have been told that the grave was marked twice because of vandalism to the first marker. There were no other graves visible but supposedly there were other graves visible in earlier years. The grave is suppose to be located in Franklin County very near Stephens Co., GA. I would like to have scans of the pictures of the grave marker placed by the SAR in 2003.
