Liz, for a number of years, I have been trying to identify a man by the name of Jim Simmons. He was born in VA about 1824-25, moved to Attala County, MS between 1840-1850, where he appears in the 1850 census as a single man, living alone. He was killed by a man whose name was Jim KELLY in a knife fight in Rocky Point, Attala County, MS on 29 June, 1851. Does any of this ring a Simmons bell with you, Liz? Have you a Jim Simmons that seems to have just fallen between the cracks about mid-1851? At 11:58 AM 2/26/2009, you wrote: > >Hello, everyone. > >I am new here. Hi, Dennis. At the moment, I do not see a Jim Simmons in my line. I am wondering if a death certificate would have his parent's names listed?
