Dennis and Others, I recently purchased a copy of Volume X of the Mississippi Historical Society. It has a chapter dealing with reconstruction in Attala County after the Civil War. It was published in 1909. It is pretty interesting reading. If you have not seen this and would like a copy of that chapter please let me know. I found it to be interesting reading as far as history goes. It gives some interesting insight into the relationship between former slaves and their owners after the war. It also mentions some of the prominent people in the county at the time.
