    2. Researching the families of James and/or Nathan Sweatt in Attala Co. James Sweatt married Nancy Malissa Simms, whose father is reported as Wm. Simms of South Carolina.  One published reference states that Wm Simms was a soldier in the Rev War.  Also he is reported to have died in Attala Co. Descent is through Julia Sweatt Rainey, spouse of Ben Franklin Raney, son of John Y. Rainey.
