    2. Just though I would pass this on to the groups. My William Eakin had land in Attala Co., Ms. He bought the land in 1841. Here is what I have found out about Twp 15 R7E oldest patent date: March 5 1840 by John Obeir section 28 most recent was 1919 sections were 1 mile by 1 mile there were 6 cemeteries in Twp 15 R7 during this time: Bethel Cemetery (section 19) Holy Grove Cemetery Macedonia Cemetery Marvin Chapel Cemetery Pierces Chapel Cemetery Smyrna Cemetery cities and towns during this time Burkettsville ( a historical town that no longer exist) Macedonia ( a historical town) Marvins Chapel Pierces Chapel named creeks Taylor Creek Scoobachita Creek Sugar Creek ( section 19 ) Hurricane Creek there are 640 acers in a 1 x 1 mile section land patents have been found for some of this land in Twp 15 R7E my William Eakin and William G. Eakin were in section 19 and 30 ( these 2 section joined each other, one on top of the other ) of Twp 15 - R7E other people who were in section 19 Burkit Thompson, 1841 Thomas J. Anderson, 1841 Charles Kennon. 1841 Lansford Ayres, 1856 Neil Hull, 1890 section 30 William Eakin and David Eakin owned 1/2 of section 30 Isaiah Vick, 1841 Duncan King, 1841 John T. Holland, 1859 Ira B. Gentry, 1894 In 1846 David Eakin bought land in Twp15 R6E along with Boley J. Conner and Turner Price in section 24. Twp 15 R6E was to the left of R7E names I noted Edmund Stuckey, section 9 John Stuckey, section 26 John W. Stuckey, section 26 William Stuckey, section 25 Bailey L. Guess, section 17 Zebadiah Guess, section 19 Edmund Brister, section 10 & 15 Samuel Brister, section 11,12,22,29,and 30 Isaac Dickerson, section 20 John L. Dickerson, section 21 Levi J. Dickerson, section 19 There are many more names. Looking at how they lived close together and married into others families is a great look into the past. And a lot of fun.
