I have found out that John Christopher Columbus Gregory born 07/28/188 and Samuel Christopher Gregory are both the same person. Parents John Christopher Gregory and Electrra Phinnia Clementine Peeler Gregory of Attala County, Mississippi. When he was born his mother and father named him John Christopher Columbus Gregory. His grandpa Peeler did not like the name and called him Sambo. Birth certificates were not in Mississippi till 1906. Lucille Gregory Cohan has the family bible and in it shows the name of John Christopher Columbus Gregory. She is his daughter. By 1906 he was called Sam and Samuel was a family name in the Peeler family. The error in the birth certificate is noted in the family bible.
