Thank you for your info, but according to the obit for Sarah E. (Bettie) Mask Bruce, her father's name was William Mask. According to the 1860 Census, this family (Hezekiah Mask) was living in Leake Co, but had gone to Texas by the 1870 Census. Was not able to find William Mask in Texas, but did find some of his brothers. William Mask joined the Volunteers from Leake/Neshoba Co during the Civil War. According to some info I have obtained, he was killed in Ga in 1864. I was never able to find her BEORE she married my ggrandfather. After that, I could find them on every census until she died in 1935. Her obit, which I obtained from the Star Herald, stated she was born and raised in the Rocky Point/Possumneck area. Her mother's name was not known on the death certificate, but William Mask was listed as father. The Mask family you mentioned are a part of this huge family from North Carolina, Ga, Al and into Miss. Many of them have the same name and can be very confusing. Thanks for your input. Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry I found the wrong people. Are the Bruces buried in Attala County correct? I know what you mean that there are so many of the same name but different families.
