Dear Anna, I have a couple questions for you. 1. What proof do you have that Sarah J. Burney was only eleven years old when she married John H. Massey? I found one S.J. Massey who matches "your" Sarah Jane in age, but I also found another Sarah Jane Burney who was born 1856, the same year as John H. Massey. 2. What documentation do you have that Sarah Jane's parents were Delitha Veana McCool and Berry Holland Burney? Is the information in a Bible record or where? If you will answer these questions as quickly as you can, I will continue on my trail for you. The sooner you answer, the better it is for me because I try to help a lot of researchers and I forget what I have written if it is too long between my letter and the response. Thanks loads. Burney age 25 wife; S.B. age 7 son; F.R. age 18 son (actually stepson of V.A.) son of 1st wife Martha); S.J.(Sarah Jane) age 4 dau.; H.A.(Hettie Ann) dau age 2. 2nd Application for Civil War pension signed Mrs. S.J. Massey. 3rd Affidavit of Applicant for Letters of Administration (after death of John Massey in 1910 signed by Mrs. S.J. Massey. 3rd Sarah Jane is buried in Eylua Meth.Cemetery in Bowie County,Tx. She lived with her daughter Wilma & husband Homer A. Kirby Sarah birth date on the headstone is Sept.29,1875 - died Jan. 24, 1962. this date is also on her death certifiate and mother listed as Annie McCool information given by Mrs H.W.
