I am aware that the courthouse in Attala County had several fires through the years; and, insofar as I have been able to determine, there are no land records from the original Patent date until 1858. Do you know of any place where some records might have been stored and not lost in the fires? Several marriages and many land transactions in my family took place during the time period 1820-1858. I would like to find at least some of these records, if they exist. Do you know what the lawyers are doing when they examine title to lands from present day back to the original Patent?     3. The BLM/GLO records have land patents back as far as 1841 for Attala County. The county was formed in 1833, I think. Am I correct, Everette?
