The names indicated concerning my BROOK line are from the Will of Sydney Brook wife of Jonathan Brook....as well as some other documents found in the Mississippi; Louisiana and Alabama Archives. Jonathan Brook b. Oct 14, 1805 GA - d. Jan 19, 1859 Kosciusko, Attala Co., MS. 1st wife unknown. 2nd wife the widow Sydney Barnes (wife of Wesley) b. Jan 8, 1811 GA - d. Sep 19, 1859 Kosciusko, Attala Co., MS, married Dec 10, 1849 Noxubee Co., MS I'm following up with information I've rec'd indicating that Jonathan is possibly from Oglethorpe Co., GA possibly s/o Samuel Brook dec'd of Peter The children listed (1 through 9) were indicated in Sydney's Will from her husband Jonathan Brook 1st marriage. This Jonathan Brook was never married to Nancy Monk whom I've seen posted by others with this line attached. This Jonathan would had only been 7 yrs olds at the time, lol. The estimated years of birth are from census records I've been able to match with for those I'm still researching. 1. Samuel Brook b. abt 1828 GA 2. Matilda Brook b. abt 1831 GA 3. Sarah Jane Brook b. 1832 GA m/t Jesse Flowers Temple of Copiah Co., MS 4. Elizabeth Ann Brook b. 1827 GA m/t Abraham A. Darnell s/o Zachariah Darnell and Jenny Hopkins. Abraham moved to Milam Co., TX during 1870 with 2 brothers I'm aware of: Andrew J. and Jacob A. Darnell. Elizabeth died in TX, they had 6 children <found> Sarah J.; John H.; Joseph F.; George A.; Zachariah; William S. Darnell. 5. Louisa Brook b. abt 1834 GA m/t Reuben Rowlin Coleman. Lousia died between 1871-1880 leaving 4 children <found> Children: W. C.; Mary E.; John A; S. L Coleman. 6. Mary Ann Brook b. Feb 22, 1836 GA m/t Drury Benson Massey. Mary later married Wilbert Pope. 7. Caroline Brook b. abt 1837 GA 8. Georgianna aka: Georgia Ann Brook b. abt 1838 Noxubee Co., MS 9. Lucy Hudson Brook b. Sep 12, 1842 Noxubee Co., MS m/t Absalom Melton Coleman. Is Reuben related to Absalom Melton Coleman and so how? Jonathan re-married Sydney Barnes widow of Wesley Barnes on Dec 10, 1849 in Noxubee Co., MS. Between them they had 3 children: 10. Emma Josephine Brook b. Feb 21, 1851 Noxubee Co., MS - d. Jul 15, 1933 Kosciusko, Attala Co., MS buried Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with her husband Dallas O'Briant b. May 18, 1845 Attala Co., MS - d. May 19, 1935 <same location>. Dallas is the s/o Randolph O'Briant and Prudence Dixon both of Granville Co., NC 11. John Henry Brook b. May 6 1852 Noxubee Co., MS - d. TX m/t Bethi Melissa White. 12. Joseph Preston Brook b. Jan 26, 1855 Noxubee Co., MS After Sydney's death John Henry and brother Joseph Preston Brook moved to Western Dist, Burleson Co., TX to live with their older half sister Elizabeth Ann married to Abraham A.
