On the 1850 Census - Attalla Co listed with Jerry Fancher (#740) there is a John Carter Fancher and Jefferson Davis listed. John is not a Fancher but a Carter. The Fanchers moved to LA and then to TX. I know that Jefferson is a son of Polly Fancher and William Davis who married in Cahawba Co. (later Bibb Co), AL in 1818. They had 5 children. Polly and William died prior 1847 and he supposedly Died in LA. Do not know where Polly died and no idea where they are buried. Would like to make contact with anyone researching these families.
