    3. The tombstone of John Allen b. 1784 died 1867 buried in the Kosciusko city cemetery needs to be lifted up. We went to Laurel Hill to an aunt's 100th year birthday party Sunday and came back by the cemetery. John wanted to check on his parents' stones (Craft) in the Rimmer plot, just NE of the "Lady" stone. I stopped to check on John Allen's stone. It has been lying down for about 20 years. This time I had to scrape the grass off the top to be sure it was his stone. Some of you John Allen descendants need to place it on a slab of concrete before it completely disappears. He married Pegga Stimmons. Their children were: Betsy Allen married Willian Ellington Elvira Allen married Elisha Stamps - stayed in Lawrence Co Mary Ann Allen married Wiliam Simmons Eliza Allen married Mathew T. Harris William Allen married Martha Jane Jeffries Alzada Allen married Hermongene LeBlanc Charity Allen married Stephen Nelson Chennault Riley Allen Elmira Jane Allen married James Perry Aden. You need to do something before it is complete covered up. When you go into the north entrance you will find steps on the south side of the entrance. You take the steps up to the front of the cemetery. The stone is about 30 feet toward the south and is just on the south side of several stones that are standing. In fact, it is on top of the little hill about 20 feet west of the east edge. I pulled some of the grass off the stone Sunday. In the Attala Co cemetery book he is listed next to the Shanks family and Martha Davis Turner on page 118. I did not check Sunday to see the name on the stone next to his stone. I am descended from Jesse Simmons (father of Pegga Simmons) through his son Joseph Simmons.. Janice Craft, Greenville
