One of my English teachers at Shelby High School (Bolivar County) married into the Brock family in the early 1950's. In response to this message: My Ggrandmother was Lucinda Brock Barnett. She married Calvin Barnett and lived in Attala County in the community of Center. She died in 1920. To the best of my understanding, there are other Brock families who still live in that area. Wanda, I tried unsuccessfully several times to send you an e-mail and it was returned several times. Wanted to say thanks for writing the Slade Family Tree and dedicating it in my honor! No one's ever done such a nice thing before, and I appreciate it. I will give it to the Drew Library, as per your request and hope it does not land up in Indianola. The library there is "stocking" their genealogy room and I am sorry to say that they took a lot of our genealogy from our genealogy room to do it. I have found buried in the Drew City Cemetery the following: William S. Brock, 12/25/1873 - 8/20/1925 Lenora Allen Brock, 10/14/1879 - 1/21/1981 Infant Brock, born and died 3/28/1901, son of W.S. and L.A. Brock Corry v. Brock, 6/28/1890- 1/19/1910 Johnny Lafayette Brock, 3/28/1900 - 5/20/1956, He is buried beside Lenora and Wm. S. Brock, so I am wondering if he is their child. There is still a Brock family living here in Drew, Sunflower County, and Dr. Charles Brock, their son practices in Cleveland, Bolivar County. Does this help?
