    3. About Jacob and Catherine Pickle. We can't assume that Catherine is the mother of these Pickles! I know from my family that John (my ancestor), Louis or Lewis, and sister Nancy (married Lee, Dill, Jenkins) are brothers and sister and were children of Jacob "Jake" Pickle. If you will notice in the names the three of these gave their children that there is NOT one who named a child "Catherine." Look at the others in Monroe County - Robert named his first known child "Catherine." Then when you check the names of the children of Green Berry Pickle that he named his first daughter "Catherine." Also, The Cassandra b. ca 1830 Miss, married to a R. Johnson and is listed in the 1870 Attala Co census where Catherine is living in 1870, could be a daughter of Catherine. We just do not know. And the census taker could have made a mistake and put Catherine with this Johnson family instead of with the Pickle family listed above the Johnsons or the family below them for Nancy Pickle and husband Jenkins. I have tried to find out more about this Cassandra but have not found a marriage license or anything else about her. I have copied the County Line Cemetery at Dossville and did not find many Pickles. I was born at Dossville in 1928 and my grandmother was Ada Pickle. When they dug a grave for my Aunt Sarah they found signs that someone else had been buried there. And we have no idea who was buried there. But I do not believe Catherine is the mother of the three (John, Lewis, Nancy) who came first to Attala Co. cause they did not name a child after her.
