Sam, I found in the 1870 Attala County, a Catherine Pickle, age 89, widow, b. NC living in the household of M.R. Johnson, age 42, b. GA and his wife Kizannah, age 40, b. MS. Their children were Frances J. age 15, Wm. L. Age 14, Martha age 11, James M. age 10, Martin age 8, John K. age 5, Thomas J. age 2, and Mary V., showing age as 1/6 (I think the census taker meant to write 1/12). If this Catherine was 89 in 1870, her date of birth would have been about 1781. Is this one yours? Also found in the 1870 Attala Census a Lewis Pickle, age 60, a potter and farmer just two doors down from the Johnson family and Catherine Pickle. This Lewis was age 60, b. AL. His wife was Mary, age 43, b. MS, and they had the following children: Lewis J., age 13, James M., age 10 and Kenny t., age 5. (In the 1860 Attala, this Lewis is shown at age 42, a jugmaker, b. AL. His wife, Mary, is shown age 35, b. AL, and the following children: John R., age 14, George W. age 12, Mary C., age 9, Lewis J. age 5 and james M. age 1. All the children b. MS) Hope this helps.
