This is the cemetery that remains from a no longer existing Salem Church. I'm never sure whether it was Salem Baptist or Salem Methodist Church. It seems today to be a community cemetery. This cemetery is no where near McCool. If this is the cemetery you are looking for, below are directions to locate it. >From Kosciusko take Hwy 12 west to McAdams, then turn left (south) on the road to Sallis. Continue on through Sallis until New Port. At the junction with Hwy 14 turn left (east). Then travel a half mile or so on Hwy 14 and turn right on a gravel road heading south again. Salem Cemetery is less than a mile on that gravel road. The cemetery is on both sides of that gravel road. The original (old section)-west side is full, so late 20th century burials are on the east side of that gravel road. On the way to Salem cemetery you'll past a cemetery on a hill on the left side of the road. Keep on going as that is McLean (McLain) cemetery. Salem is less than a half mile further down that gravel road. If this is not the cemetery you seek, I tried. Many of my kin are buried at Salem. Gigi, There are two Salem Cemeteries in Choctaw county and three in Attala county. Salem at Chester and Salem at Weir in Choctaw county, I think one of these may be the one you are looking for: Salem Methodist is located near Chester, Ms. no direction in the Choctaw cemetery book. Salem Methodist Church Cemetery at Weir (not good directions give) Take the Louisville - Weir Road. From Highpoint you travel 7.1 miles and the church is on the right of the road and church and cemetery can be seen from the road?
