Jean, I would love to have some information regarding his ASHLEY family background. Would be delighted to share with you. All the Ashley's in Attala are related. Most seem to be from families of two brothers who move there in early 1800's, John Ashley and his brother Williamson Ashley. Both sons of Papa John Ashley from Laurens Co SC. John was in Attala by 1820, Williamson by 1840.
