    3. I think Everett's idea may be the best one. The ones that I know in this group were landowners. Worth Tx and it is as you describe. I have no idea why it should be, unless she employed all those folks in some way, something like a big lumber camp with transit workers living in community housing? The name Center might imply some sort of center, I've wondered about the name as the location certainly wasn't in the Center of Attala. bob gilbert ==== MSATTALA Mailing List ==== Be sure to visit the Attala County Genealogy (MSGenWeb) web site at http://www.rootsweb.com/~msattala/

    3. Barbara, As Wanda Lentz indicated, the census image at Ancestry.com for page 44, Enumeration District 19 clearly shows that Susan Kellun and her family reside in Household # 351, Family #351. There is nothing unusual or unique about this family or this census page. Susan is shown as married, head of household and her occupation is listed as keeping house. With her are six children ranging in age from age one to age seventeen. Bailey (age 17) is listed as her stepson and then there is Isaac, John D., Texana, William and Martha. Martha is the last individual shown as living in household #351. It then proceeds to list additional households in the usual manner. The last page of District 19 shows the last household as #528 and the total inhabitants enumerated as 2,944. Barbara, the Family Search image, for some unknown reason, failed to list the household numbers that are clearly indicated on the image at ancestry.com. It would appear that you are attempting to lay claim to the inhabitants of the remaining 177 households. :-) Everette ----- Original Message ----- From: "btholmes" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, June 13, 2004 7:34 PM Subject: RE: [MSATTALA] 1880 Attala Census - Center I think Everett's idea may be the best one. 3. Everett, Thank you and all of the others who came to my rescue. One other question, rather than "head" or "wife" or "son", each of these was listed as "other". Please tell me the microfilm lists them in the normal manner. I shall be much more cautious about LDS transcriptions in the future.
