I have done a bit of research at the Huntsville AL Library in the past. I was there about 3 years ago and found a similar situation to the one described by Edward , although they were probably a bit more orderly. I was in the basement , unsupervised , handling original documents and was alarmed to know that I or anyone else could have walked off with them without any notice. Quite a few of the files on my particular ancestors are missing. I can guess what has happened to them............... Anyway , I am happy to report that since then , the records have been moved to the genealogy room of the Huntsville Public Library and a team of volunteers are carefully and lovingly getting them set up in that facility as well as posting many to the local website for all of us to use and enjoy. I live very far away or I would volunteer my time to help Attala County with the same process. I will gladly contribute funds. We must not let these precious records be lost !!! Molly
