Dennis - they had content when I sent them. I went through the procedure of unsubscribing and then resubscribing with my new email address and also got the Robilyn changed to Ellen on my emails. Your email came into my earthlink address and I am desperately trying to get everything changed to eopettit@hughes.net. I hated to post using this earthlink address but that seems to be all that is posting and I won't have it after the 4th or 5th. Ellen -----Original Message----- >From: "Dennis K. I have a "Turner Family Cemetery" project. I have started with my grand parents up to my 5th grdparents grouped by families & trying to locate where all the Turner's are buried. Quite a project but have come a long way. Having trouble with 4th & 5th ggrdparents families . Any info of any kind would help. Thanks for responding!! Faye ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug. We have Turners in our Attala family - Franklin Ephraim Turner, who married Martha Susan Lucas. I don't know Franklin's parents. Could we be related? Franklin was born in Amite Co., MS, but died in Attala. His son, Jackson E. Turner, married my great aunt Lula Cornelia Bridges. Jackson and his family moved on to Louisiana, where he died in 1942. I have a bit of information on Henry Turner's family. This Henry was born in VA between 1724 and 1730 and died in SC on or about Jan 30, 1812. This Henry Turner married Sarah Murphy, the daughter of Darby and Elizabeth Murphy. Some of his descendants migrated to Attala County as my gg grandmother, Lucinda "Cindy" Turner Cummins. I will be happy to pass it along. Doug

Jim, Im not sure, yet, as I am just starting to research this line. Both my husband, and his father have Woodrow as their middle names, so it is possible that there is a connection. I just don't want to say yes to it until I know for sure. I'll check with my father-in-law and see if he can fill me in a little more. If the obit you receive from Ellen is not too long, I would very much appreciate your emailing its text to me, June. As for James first wife, "Unknown Walker," if it is any consolation, during 1999-2003, I had quite a bit of correspondence with James Truett SMITH of Jackson, MS, in which he shared his own knowledge of the SMITH line of descendancy and life in Rocky Point with me. James Truett SMITH (1914-2003) was Augustus Milton SMITH's son by Cornelia HAND and grandson of Hugh Walker SMITH. As far as I know, Truett's wife, Madeira still resid es in Jackson. In reviewing my correspondence with James Truett Smith, he shared much about his knowledge of old Rocky Point and those who lived there in times now long gone, but I note that he, also, only referred to his great grandfather's wife as "Unknown WALKER," adding that she was born in Ireland between 1800-1810. In "Guess - Guess History and Lineage In America," compiled by Alta Louise Biggs Martin, she includes mention of "Some Smith History" on pages 138-139. I notice that Ms. Martin, despite the thoroughness of her own research, also refers to James SMITH's wife as "______ WALKER." So, I would say if Ellen Pettit has no clue as to who "Unknown WALKER" was, tracking her down might be a search some of us have no time to pursue. Should you ever come by that information, I sure would like to learn who she was, June. Don't hesitate to send any more questions on the SMITHs to me as I might be able to be of more help to you in the future on other aspects of their lives. Hi, Dennis. At the moment, I do not see a Jim Simmons in my line. I am wondering if a death certificate would have his parent's names listed? Hi, Charles. The Adcock line I am researching is James Elmer (b. 1918 d. 1954), parents: James Walton Adcock (b. 1896 d.?), and Louvenia (b. 1901?). Their other children, besides, James E., were: Lillie and Wesley. That is all I have on them at the moment. Hi, Wanda. My husband's maternal grandmother was Edith Eakin Adcock Cummins (1917-2008). Her father was John W. Eakin (b. 8/4/1882 d. 12/20/1963, Attala Co, MS), and her mother was Lora L. Taylor (b. 1883 d. 4/24/1961). That is all I have so far. There are also lots of Herringtons buried in Paulding in Jasper County. Most of them are descendents of Michael Herrington, an Irish immigrant, and Rebecca Green Herrington.
