    3. Thank you very much Martha, I'll keep researching By any chance are you related to the BOGGS of Pickens Co., SC? I happen to have a few notes here referencing them, should you be interested T. Caleb O'Briant b. abt 1823 Pickens Co., SC - d. Sept 17, 1862 during the Civil War in MS m/t Sarah Ann Boggs. T. Caleb O'Briant, s/o of John O'Briant and Elizabeth Morgan T. Caleb O'Briant and Sarah Ann Boggs had the following children that I'm aware of: O'Briant children James Harrison ...m/t Nancy M. Prather Joseph William A. ...m/t Mary Elmira Stephens Benjamin F. Again thank you Catherine O'Briant PS: Since I find the surname with so many variant spellings found O'Bryant, O'Brient, O'Brian, etc. I just use O'Briant in my database for easier querying making a notation of the spelling used attaching a copy of the paperwork for my files. -----Original Message----- From: Martha Boggs [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2004 11:10 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] RE: [MSATTALA] John Richard O'Briant and Louisa Jane Nash Catherine, I was unable to find the O'Briants you were looking for. I also checked for Nash. There are a large number of O'Briants in the cemetery book, but not the ones you need. Martha Boggs

    3. No, Catherine, my husband's ancestors were Yankees from Pennsylvania and Ohio! But many generations ago. I have several families that I research with variant spellings that I also have "standardized" for convenience. Otherwise, I'd never make any progress. One of my Attala Co. ancestors was James Herald/Harrald/Harrold/Harrall, so I know what you mean. Good hunting. 1. New Banner Heading for Attala County Web Site
    2. Everette Carr
    3. Just a quick note to alert you to the fact that the Attala County, MSGenWeb site has a new banner Heading on the main page of the web site. So, if it doesn't look familiar, don't worry, it is in fact the Attalla County web site. The new banner heading is a drawing by a former Kosciusko resident, Jack Olsen which was done in 1998. The drawing, as indicated on the web site, depicts the Attalla County Courthouse as it appeared in 1897. It is a fantastic drawing and stands as a memorial to Jack Olsen's memory. I do not have permission to use this drawing. Repeated attempts to contact the Olsen family to request permission to use the image have failed. But, it is such a realistic depiction of the courthouse, such a fantastic image that it would be a shame not to utilize it as an introduction to the Attala County genealogy site. I think you will all agree that it is a welcome addition to the Attala County web site and an appropriate and proper lead-in to a site devoted to Attala County history and genealogy. http://www.rootsweb.com/~msattala/ Striving to make the Attala County MSGenWeb site the best free genealogy site for USGenWeb in the state, if not the nation!
