I really appreciate your post. Your connection to the Neeley/Moore sounds so correct! The last thing I could find is a census for East Feliciana Parish, East Feliciana Louisiana in 1850. Page 207, line 26, family number 17, Bruff J.H. male age 30 cannot read birth state - Overseer / Bruff, N.L. female, age 28, birth Louisiana / Neeley, Richard, male, age 42, cannot read birth state but but same as J.H. Bruff - listed as Farmer / Neeley, George M., male, age 13 / Neeley, Thomas, male, age 12 born Mississippi / Neeley, Martha, female, age 9, born Mississippi / The Mary Ann Moore you have died in 1849, so would explain why not on 1850 census.
