I have no idea what to make of that! I do think for sure that these families are connected... I'll have to go back and look at the 1900 census now... I remember that there were a LOT of Freemans on the same page or the one next to it. I also found on that census, one page over, that there was an Ottis McManus who was three years older than Mary. I was wondering if he might be a brother, but I found his family, it didn't seem so. (Though the mom's name was N.D.)
