I really appreciate your post. Your connection to the Neeley/Moore sounds so correct! The last thing I could find is a census for East Feliciana Parish, East Feliciana Louisiana in 1850. Page 207, line 26, family number 17, Bruff J.H. male age 30 cannot read birth state - Overseer / Bruff, N.L. female, age 28, birth Louisiana / Neeley, Richard, male, age 42, cannot read birth state but but same as J.H. Bruff - listed as Farmer / Neeley, George M., male, age 13 / Neeley, Thomas, male, age 12 born Mississippi / Neeley, Martha, female, age 9, born Mississippi / The Mary Ann Moore you have died in 1849, so would explain why not on 1850 census. Please contact me if still willing to share your research. Thank you in advance as I know how time consuming this can be.
