Williams NEWARK, Ohio: A.T, Williams was born on October 29 1924 in Oxford, Mississippi.(LaFayette County) He went home to be with the lord on Friday June 17, 2011. Mr. Williams was a truck driver for B&L Trucking, traveling all over the United States. He enjoyed billiards and knew many performers from the 50's and 60's from working clubs in the Toledo, Ohio area. A. T. was a friend of many people in Newark, Ohio and was known as Newark's first black cowboy. He was a member of the Trinity A.M.E. Church, a former deputy sheriff, and a member of the Teamster's Union. He was a jokester with plenty of personality and always surrounded himself with many friends. Left behind to mourn his passing is his daughter-in-law Hattie Logan; grandson, Kelly Logan; and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jossie (McGee) Williams, to whom he was married for 51 years; and his brothers and sisters.
