Till, on vacation in Mississippi from Chicago, was brutally beaten, mutilated and killed for the “offense” of insulting a white woman. He was unaccustomed to the ways and culture of rural Mississippi. (more on website) I am not related to this family, I'm just passing on this information that I found while researching Lynchings.
