My gggrandmother was from that area. Originally she was a Davis. She married a Felters and then a Beines Bournes or Burns. I couldn't locate her for years because all relatives who knew of her in the 20's and 30's she her last name was Burns. In the 1800s she was in the Adams, Wilkinson and Jefferson County area. She later show up in Bolivar County area where some of my family had moved.
What state are you researching in?
