KY, 12-59-111. The Smock family were Low Dutch congregants who had moved into Mercer Co. KY in the latter part of the 1700's from the Conwago Low Dutch community near Gettysburg, Pa when it folded. Thanks for sharing this. I was thinking that possibly, since the walked many of these slaves down the Old Natchez Trace from TN to Natchez, that perhaps those buyers living in Thomastown, MS or along the Trace may have purchased slaves as they passed by. The Vanarsdales did live near Thomastown and their plantation either opened onto or the Trace passed through their land.
