Hill by probate court in Noxubee County on May 13, 1850, as guardian of his children, heirs of Lavina (Medlock) Hill. Their names and ages were: One man, Dick, 22; one "Octi", Fate or Tate, 15; one woman, Orrey, 20; one male child, Bill, 5. William Hill and his family moved to Texas later that year. There is no information whether these slaves accompanied them.
