It has been a struggle to find slave families, and white Vaughan families in the area and I would like to know more about yours. Where is Rueben Vaughn from, where was he born, children, etc.? I don't know much about Annie Vaughn/Vaughan accept that she was born in VA, or has roots there, around 1839/1840. She married Beverly Chandler around 1867 in Monroe County, and had several children. She died in 1880 sometime, most likely in between July and August. She is recorded in the 1870 Census for Chickasaw County, and in Monroe County in the 1880 Census, with Beverly Chandler, as Annie Chandler. However Beverly is recorded in both the Clay County and Monroe County 1880 Census signifying a relocation or something. In the Clay County Census, he is listed as a widower, whereas she and him are married in the Monroe County Census. I look forward to hearing from you soon, Ryan Neal
