I would like some help in finding who my great-grandfather was. I know his wife name was Zilpha Baker and their children were, Columbus, Doctor ( we called him Dock, he was my grandfather.) and Bolls. The girls were Derinda, Gertrude and Hattie Baker.     3. Hi Howard, I can only tell you when my grandparents and others were attending or teaching at Rust. Have you seen the manuscript history of the school? It has the names of a number of people and what they did. I will check my records and share with you what I know. The names of most are Strickland, Talbot, Martin, Morris, and a student of theirs, Prentiss Taylor. I also have a cousin whose mother and aunts attended and taught there. I will check with her about the Goldens. What are their dates? We believe that the bricks of the old buildings were made by Jack Herron whose wife was the oldest sister of my maternal grandmother. I was treated well, because I friend of mine had family in stpoint MS and they would call the Bed and Breakfast on regular basis until I ft. know the undertakings of organization will be a monumental job. I hope there ll be enough people to help keep it going. I am a member of another Genealogy cietie and have never been to the state. I can say I will be more than happy become a Charter Member of a Mississippi Afro American Society. I would like also suggest that all of us who might travel to Genealogy workshops held in fferent States, PASS THE WORD, at these workshops.
