    1. [MSAFRICANAMER] re-post - John (A. G.) Coleman of New Augusta, Perry Co., MS
    2. healing free
    3. Greetings! I am the granddaughter of Charles R. Coleman who was the son John A.G. & Myrtle (Powell) Coleman and I need help determining who A.G.’s parents were. John Coleman, great-grandfather ( also known as A.G. ) born approx. 1904 in New Augusta, Perry Co., MS and he married Myrtle Powell born 1902 in Mobile County, AL. She was the daughter of Frozine Nichols & Eben Powell of Moffetsville (aka Albritton & Wilmer), Mobile County, AL. This is the information I have found on Ancestry.com and from family oral history : * On May 9th, 1904 in Perry County, Mississippi - an Aretta McSwain married a G.W. Coleman ( Aretta could be a nickname for Hernetta ) * 1910 Census: A.G. Rodger born in 1905 in New Augusta (Beat 1), Perry County, MS * 1910 : Henretta (possibly is Aretta) divorced G.W. Coleman, and was remarried to Vate (or Vake) Rodger (or Roger) in 1910 in New Augusta, Perry County, MS * 1910 in Beat 1 (New Augusta), Perry County, MS: A.G. Rodger lived in Vate (or Vake) & Henretta Rodger's household next door to Austin & Matilda (Hollimon) McSwain * 1930 Census: A.G. lived in Hattiesburg, Forrest County, MS with wife Myrtle, brother-in-laws Daniel Satchel & Stonewall Davis, & nephew Fletcher Spencer * A.G.'s mother was one of Austin & Matilda (Hollimon) McSwain's daughters in New Augusta, Perry County, MS * After his mother's passing in the same town & county before or after 1910, A. G. was mainly raised by his aunt Daisy P. McSwain in New Augusta, Perry County, MS ( Daisy lived in Meridian, MS around the 1940s to 1950s) Any information you can assist me with to help determine who the parents of my great-grandfather were is greatly appreciated and I can be reached at healing.free@gmail.com

The Louisiana Secretary of State (Archives - Vital Records division) lists a "Simon Fairconetue" who died in Orleans Parish in August of 1945 at the age of 60. If you think that this is your Simon, you can order his death certificate for $5.00, and hopefully it will list his parents (there is a space on the certificate for the names of the parents which is usually but not always filled in). Go to this website: http://www.sos.louisiana.gov/tabid/640/Default.aspx Enter in FAIRCO In addition to Simon, you will also see listings for: James Faircomture, died June 13, 1931, aged 33. Arthur Joseph Fairconature, died February 25, 1956, aged 54. Annunica Simons Fairconetue, died March 11, 1953, aged 60. Infant Male Fairconetue, died July 22, 1957, aged 2 days. Benjamin Ray Fairconeture, died July 26, 1958, aged 21 hours. Erie OR Eric Fairconnetue, died May, 1943, aged 4 months. Thomas Faircontue, died January 1938 (no age listed). All of the above also died in Orleans Parish, and their death certificates can also be ordered for $5.00 each. (Just click on "Order" by each name, and there is a hyperlink to the form you will need.) Hope this helps! Best of luck with your research!
