Mrs. Thompson was born May 26, 1913, in Aberdeen, Mississippi.(Monroe County) Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Charlie and Lillie B. Ward Swanson. She relocated to Youngstown, Ohio from Mississippi in 1938, where she lived the remainder of her life. Mrs. Thompson was employed at Park Vista Presbyterian Homes of Youngstown for over 12 years. She was also employed at the Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 20 years. Mrs. Thompson united with the Union Baptist Church upon coming to Youngstown. In 1952, she united with the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful and dedicated member until her death. Mrs. Thompson also in her later years accompanied her daughter and became an honorary member of the Christian Revival and Discipleship Center and its Mother's Board. Mrs. Thompson was also involved in many community organizations such as the Northside Block Watch, The McGuffey Senior Citizens craft and exercise groups, the Northside Garden Club, an advisory member to Freedom Incorporated, a life long member of the NAACP and a mentor and advisor to many youth throughout the city. Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie, whom she married Oct. 27, 1934; her parents; and she is the last of 16 siblings to be called to be with the Lord. She leaves to mourn her passing, two children, Charlie Jr. (Zandrianna) of Phoenix, Arizona and Dr. Minnie Rosie Taylor (John) of Liberty, Ohio; three grandchildren, Andrelita Hakeem and Amir Hakeem and Tuere McElroy, all of Youngstown, Ohio; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be held Wednesday at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St., at 11 a.m. with the homegoing services to follow at noon. G. was mainly raised by his aunt Daisy P. McSwain in New Augusta, Perry County, MS ( Daisy lived in Meridian, MS around the 1940s to 1950s) Any information you can assist me with to help determine who the parents of my great-grandfather were is greatly appreciated and I can be reached at healing.free@gmail.com

Looking for information on Calvin Paden, African American, born abt 1864 in Tishomingo County, MS. His parents were Abraham and Hannah Paden. Mr. Bush, affectionately known as "Bush" and "Lil Buddy," was born March 11, 1927, in Macon, Mississippi (Noxubee County) a son of John W., Sr. and Emma Tate Bush. He had been employed as a machinist with Lord Corporation, retiring in 1995. He attended the Second Baptist Church in Erie, pa.. He leaves a daughter, Lue Bertha Tate of Youngstown, Ohio; a son, Tommie Dunlap, Glenwood, Illinois; three sisters, Annette Stewart and Emma Lou Mayberry, both of Macon, Miss. and Ruby Hampton of Chicago; four brothers, L. B. Bush and James Earl Bush, both of Macon, Rufus Bush of Erie and Sammie Bush of Chicago; a son-in-law, Demetrius Riddle of Youngstown; seven grandchildren, Rodney (Sheila) Tate, Albert C. Tate Jr., Charity C. (Willie) Tate-Young, Melissa Y. Tate, Kimberly Dunlap, Dyneen (Dwight) Jackson and Tareisha Dunlap; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Corean Weaver, whom he married Dec. 25, 1947, and who passed away April 1, 2007; a son, John W. Bush III; and six brothers, Roosevelt, Robert, Willie Wallace, Harrison, Bennie and Nathaniel. Friends may view from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the L.E. The Louisiana Secretary of State (Archives - Vital Records division) lists a "Simon Fairconetue" who died in Orleans Parish in August of 1945 at the age of 60. If you think that this is your Simon, you can order his death certificate for $5.00, and hopefully it will list his parents (there is a space on the certificate for the names of the parents which is usually but not always filled in). I have the following and am looking for more information on Paul. Paul Fairconeture (or any variant spelling of the name) was born in Bay St. Louis, Hancock County, MS in February 1883. He married probably in Hancock County a woman named Belle, they are cited on the US census in Ancestry.com. The couple apparently resided in Hancock County and had the following children; possibly more: 1. Harry W. Fairconeture, born July 28, 1907 2. Grace Fairconeture, born about February 1910 3.
