Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. (Montgomery County) Benjamin was born August 17, 1949 to the late Joseph O. and Willie Mae McKennie Saffold in Lexington, Mississippi, and had lived in Marion, Ohio the past 31 years. Benjamin served in the U.S Army and was honorably discharged in 1971. Benjamin was a social person who enjoyed spending time with his "adopted" famiy in Marion, Ohio and was also considered a handyman. Benjamin is survived by his four children, Reginald Saffold, Brooklyn, New York, Deanne Saffold, Columbus, Ohio, Benjamin (Danielle) Saffold Jr., Mansfield, Ohio, and Jarell Goodman, Marion, Ohio; siblings, Evelyn (Garnett) Herron, Earl (Betty), Lonnie, Johnathon (Lula) Saffold, Wisconsin, Irene (Allen) Crawford, Georgia, Ann (Herbert) Green, New Jersey, Eugene (Jesssie) Saffold, Mississippi, Tommy (Lydia) Saffold, Tennessee, Sandra (Dan) Gill, Colorado; five grandchildren, Shirley Saffold and Demetrius Goodman; numerous nieces, nephews, and many extended family and friends. Benjamin is preceded in death by his parents; and one son, Cornelius "Shawn" Saffold. Have you tried requesting the DC from MDAH? Death certificates were made mandatory in 1908, but the implementation of them started in about 1912 in MS. Some sooner, some later. Put in a request.
