My father was Hardy Stampley from Fayette, Mississippi. He died in 1980 at the age of 59. We live in Michigan. I saw a picture of my grandmother a very long time ago. She was in a rocking chair. That is the only memory I have of her besides the stories my dad once told. He had sisters and brothers too. All deceased now. I was told that his dad fathered upwards of 30 or more children with 2-3 wives. I was told that our great grands were slaves. My dad moved to Chicago from Mississippi, then to Michigan. He had 10 children. My mother is still alive. There are a few Stampley's here in Michigan, some still in Chicago. We lost touch with the Binghams after Clyde Bingham died.
