----- Forwarded Message ----- TO: AfriGeneas, INTERNET:[email protected] FROM: "Edda R. Pittman", INTERNET:[email protected] DATE: 2/18/104, 5:30 PM Re: Mooeheads - LeFlore County MS Originally posted on Roots Forum - Compuserve.com Monday, January 04, 99 1:10:08 AM Christmas my mother took me to see some distant cousins on my father's side. Apparently both grandparents on that side were "love children", in that their parents met and mated but then went on to marry other people. As best I can figure it out my paternal grandfather's (Wilson Pittman, b.1880 in Phillip MS) mother was named Holly Moorehead, and HER father named Rufus Moorehead. Holly later married a George Ely but no one seems to know much about her. Well, these cousins couldn't go back any further than I, but I was struck at the oddness of the name - there are only two in the local phone book. Is ANYONE else doing research on this name. BTW, these folks tend to have a sixth finger. They say it causes twins, but I'm not that sure. Comments, anyone? EDDA R.
