    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: LINCOLN MOYERS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HU2.2ACIB/229 Message Board Post: I am trying to figure out who Margaret Moyers is, in relationship to the Lincoln family I find her with in 1860. I believe the Nancy below is Nancy Driver. I do not show "yet" a Margaret Lincoln who married a Moyers, and I sure do not show Margaret as the mother of John Lincoln. Maybe Margaret is John's aunt. Maybe Margaret married two or three times. Moyers, help, please? 1860 2926/2868, District No. 1, Rockingham, page 745 Margaret Moyers, 60, Farming $13,460 $2,000, VA; John Lincoln 36, Farming personal $14,000; Nancy 34; Leanora shoemaker 19 domestic. 3. Maybe it was GANN not GUNN and I honestly have never seen LINCOLN nor DRIVER connections to MOYERS. Also, don't rule out the usage of the surname MOYERS. I'm assuming that the people below are in the same household with different surnames? I'm a tad confused here. Help me out. Anyone out here familiar with LINCOLN or DRIVER connections to MOYERS from old VA?? Have you peeled over the census for MARS MARR(S) MOIR(S) MAYER(S) MEYER(S) MIER(S) MOYHER(S) as enumerators were extremely human, making errors on the spelling. Some of their handwriting makes my doctor's look "not so bad". Another note on Rockingham... Have you checked county changes. Maybe the records are in a surrounding state. Maybe she was married prior and sad to say, maybe, as a woman her identity is lost forever as many women remained as their husband's surname in the records. -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Chrystie, ROOTSWEB LIST ADMIN.
