    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Moyer, Moyers, Meyers, Myers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/HU2.2ACIB/230 Message Board Post: I am trying to find their parents, brothers and sisters, and all of their children & info about them. Here is the info I know... They arrived in Speedwell, Clairborne County, TN. between 1803 & 1812. They are suppose to have been born in 1760 for him & 1758 for her. It is believed that her maiden name was Robertson, but will not discount Hunter or Robinson. The both died and were buried in Clairborne County in 1834 & 1835. Their children are believed to be: Rachael(1786-?) m. Nicholas Sharp Henry(1788-1873) m. Catherine Cupp Abraham(3/13/1789-1866) who appears to have stayed single Ava(1790-?) who married & moved to KY. Elizabeth "Betsy"(3/16/1793-1862) m. Joseph Hunter (have most of this info Philip(1796-1879) m. Chloe Robertson (have most of this info) John(1798) m. Lou Ann Ausmus William Harvey(1820-1889) m. Harriet Moyer(who was Philip's daughter) & Louisa Yoakum There is a problem with William Harvey unless his date of birth was earlier as Elizabeth would have been 62 in 1820. If not their son - then whose? Could he have been a grandson of Michael & Elizabeth Moyer? It is believed they were in Frederick County,MD. Also good chance of Rockingham and Shenendoah County, VA. Also possible they were in PA. before MD unless one or both of their parents arrived in Baltimore. Old stories have both of them coming from Germany or their parents from Germany. Another old story says Michael & brother Jim arrived together but James went to Morristown area, but maybe Jefferson County, TN. Found James Jr. there in 1830 Census but no James Sr. Anyone have any info on Sr. 283 157 Moyers James Jr 2 males under 5, 1 male 20-30, 1 female under 5, 2 female 20-30, Total 6 Even tho the spelling on tombstone is Moyer, sons &or grandsons appear to have taken name Moyers. Even possible spelling was Meyers. One other tidbit that I do know. The last name was pronounced as "Mars". My Dad was born in 1885 and sisters in 1905 nd 1912 and all the older ones called the last name Mars no matter what the spelling.
