Johann Casper STOEVER, father of the children named above was b Dec 21 1707 in a place called Luedorff, in Solinger, Amt. Duchy Berg in Unter Pfaltz. His parents were Johann Casper STOEVER a native of Frankenburg in Hesse and Gertraudt (unk surname) born in Amt Solingen. Taught Latin by his father; studied Latin and Greek he journeyed from Europe to America in 1728 on the "Rhine" and on an ocean vessel, as a preacher. Arrived in Phil. PA Sep 29th; ordained Apr 8, 1733 in Phila. M. Maria Catarina MERCKLIN; dau of Christian MERCKLING and Catarina BRUCHER. She was b 1715 at Lambesheim in Chur Pfaltz. Sponsor was Catarina Ursula SCHMIDT.
